## Identify the recipient

Research project funding, student scholarships and teaching or research assistant arrangements have different recipients and purposes. Conditions for one should not be transferred to another.

## Separate admission and funding decisions

Meeting admission requirements does not guarantee financial support. Verify eligibility, application steps, assessment and announcement arrangements separately. Do not assume that admission and funding are decided together.

## Read the full conditions

Check the support period, payment arrangements, renewal criteria and obligations. Use the current official scheme information and state currencies and personal-cost assumptions when comparing options.

## Retain sources and review dates

Conditions may vary by scheme and year. Keep official sources and verify them again before applying. This guide concerns information literacy, not an individual’s probability of securing funding.
